I grew up in Chicago
where developed an early interest in visual art. As I explored my options
it became clear to me that I was focused on a classical approach to
drawing and painting.
I attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Chicago's Palette
and Chisel Art Club, and The Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme,
Connecticut studying figure drawing and painting,as well as anatomy
and sculpture.
After
returning to Chicago, I continued painting independently and also began
to do mural painting and decorative work for homes and businesses. As
this facet of my work progressed I began to work on historical restorations
of large-scale decorations and murals in major secular and religious
buildings, working on sixteen different projects, including three state
capitals and two cathedrals.
In the Last several years I've executed several large Richard Haas Outdoor
Murals: two in Ft. Worth, Texas and one in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most
recently I executed a mural in the dome of St.Patricks Cathedral in
Harrisburg, Pa. and worked on the restoration of a ceiling mural in
the Vice Presidential Ceremonial office in Washington D.C.
From 2003 to 2005 I resided in Amsterdam in the Netherlands studying
dutch painting and culture and am now living and working in Chicago
where I pursue my life-long love of plein-aire painting as well as working
on studio pieces.
I am represented by Talisman gallery in Bartlesville OK.In
May 2007 Iwas recognized as a dual American/Italian citizen.
